In addition to the eight categories listed above, there are two additional categories that did not require submissions. These are based on data THE collects for its suite of rankings, but reveal something interesting about university performance that the rankings cannot capture.
THE DataPoints Research Improvement Award
For this award, our data team assessed which Asian universities had seen the most improvement in research performance in the World University Rankings over the last few years. This included looking at relevant measures in WUR such as citation impact and research productivity.

THE DataPoints Impact Award
For this award, our data team looked at how Asian universities performed in the THE Impact Rankings on measures relevant to tackling climate change. This included looking at practices like energy efficiency and sustainability as well as other aspects like environmental education and net-zero carbon commitments.
